17 Old Bay Seasoning Mix

I *love* crab cakes but haven't made them because of the lack of the main ingredient - Old Bay Seasoning. Finally, I searched and found this recipe, which looks easy enough and receives a 5-star rating. Another search yielded numerous ways to use this mix to spice up our dishes. Please enjoy.

Old Bay Seasoning Mix

1 tablespoon celery seed
1 tablespoon whole black peppercorn
6 dry bay leaves
1/2 teaspoon whole cardamom pod
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
4 whole cloves
1 teaspoon sweet Hungarian paprika
1/4 teaspoon mace

Directions:
1. Place ingredients in a spice grinder or small food processor and grind well.
2. Store in a small glass container.

Sprinkled on sweet corn
Shaken or stirred into a Bloody Mary
Incorporated into the flour for dredging pan-fried fish or chicken
